Esso was once a major supporter of the Negro Motorist Green Book, a guide to navigating segregated USA. What burns here is the fiction that mobility is right to be given, revoked, and priced according to who is asking. The title points to apartheid South Africa and questions if segregation, the withholding of free movement, ever ended.
